Our belief
We think WordPress is a fantastic piece of software, but it does not have to be the only tool to make your site run great.
Great for editing.
WordPress is great for editing.
It does not always need to power the public site.
WordPress is still one of the best tools for creating, editing, and managing website content.
It gives teams a familiar editor, flexible plugins, page builders, SEO workflows, and a publishing experience millions of people already understand.
But many public WordPress sites do not need dynamic WordPress for every visitor request.
Static for visitors.
A brochure site, marketing site, blog, landing page, documentation site, portfolio, or archive often needs to be fast, secure, reliable, and easy to update – not constantly dependent on public PHP, a public database, caching plugins, and a live WordPress runtime.
That is the idea behind Simply Static:
WordPress for editing. Static for visitors.
Your team keeps the WordPress workflow.
Visitors get the fast static version.
From one high-traffic client project to a new future for Static WordPress
Five years ago, Patrick used Simply Static for a client website that needed to handle the traffic from a TV commercial.
The idea worked. WordPress remained useful as the editing tool, while the public site could be served as static files, which were much easier to scale.
There was only one problem: the plugin had been abandoned.
At the time, Static WordPress felt like an idea people had moved on from.
Many competing tools were inactive, cloud solutions were fading, and the category was mostly treated as a developer experiment.
Patrick reached out to the original developer, took over the plugin, and resumed maintaining it.
Since then, Simply Static has grown from a rescued plugin into a complete Static WordPress product family: a powerful plugin for self-managed deployments and a managed platform for teams that want the hosting, migration, backups, SSL, forms, and static delivery handled for them.
How we work
We are building Simply Static for the long run – 5 years in, and we haven’t even reached the surface of what we envision.
We maintain what we ship
Simply Static is not a side project we return to occasionally. The product is actively developed, supported, documented, and improved.
We keep Static WordPress practical
Static should not mean rebuilding your website from scratch or giving up WordPress as your CMS. Our goal is to make the static model usable for real WordPress sites.
We are honest about fit
Not every WordPress site should go static. Public content sites are usually strong fits. Full stores, membership platforms, LMS sites, and logged-in dashboards are not.
We support people, not just tickets
Good support matters. We write documentation, create tutorials, answer questions, and help users understand the right architecture for their site.
We believe security starts with architecture
Security is not just about adding more plugins to public WordPress. For many sites, a better model is to remove public WordPress from what visitors can reach.
The people behind Simply Static
Simply Static is built by a small team with deep experience in WordPress development, support, and content.
We are small enough to stay close to users and focused enough to keep improving one category: Static WordPress.
